Last weekend I was supporting my companion Mr Phomer at a grafitti event in Camden. The event was filled with painters and cool cats and it was difficult to mis 20 year old Ukey, who was the only female painter.

Hi Ukey, how did you start to paint?

– I started painting because I’d grown up in performing arts (mostly as a ballet dancer and musician) but around the age of 13 I fell in love with art. All of my mates are graffiti writers, and it made it easy for me to get into that world. They really pushed me as a female writer to continue, and they still do!
