After my ridiculous 24 hour journey home from Biarritz back to Innsbruck I can say that the two flights, 1hr 40 train journey, 1hour 40 coach trip and a night in the travel lodge was totally worth it just to be able to watch two hours of Channel 4 and spend £50 in Holland & Barrett!
I really miss the little things like comedy on Channel 4 or banter with a stranger at the bus stop. It’s just a shame that every time I stop in the UK it’s never enough time to venture home to see family and friends.
I have just returned from our Spring/Summer 2014 Rhythm Europe photoshoot in the South of France/North of Spain. I would love to say I soaked up the sun, sea and sand but the reality is, even when staying on the beach I did not manage to go into the sea beyond my ankles! Having to style, apply make up, direct hair, continuity watch, be a runner, driver, shopper and swiftly reply to work emails and duties until 1am every night just didn’t allow for any beach time. Sure I could have woken at the crack of dawn for a wake-me-up swim but I am a wimp, if it’s not at least 20 degrees outside then it’s a no go!
We did however manage to get some amazing photos while enjoying everyone’s company, excellent chefing skills from the filmier, hanging out on the docks in San Sebastian, climbing the sand dunes at dusk, roaming abandoned caravan parks, climbing fences, sunsets and consuming approximately 50 packs of economy jaffa cakes between us.
Our photographer Sam Bradley did us the honours, the pictures here are just a few he posted throughout the trip. The best are yet to come! You can however, see the impressive and vast range of his work on his website and his blog.
I have also been documenting the trip casually on my instagram – @drawdesigndo but it was so hard trying to catch the best moments on my iPhone when I was checking for flyaway hairs and rogue bra straps!
