Second stop of Rip Curl Girls Tour attracts over 150 Girls in Milton Keynes.

After a massive turn out of over 200 Girls to the Ski and Snowboard Girls Tour in Truro on the 9th & 10th December, Rip Curl were stoked to see so many Girls book up for their Learn to Ride and Freestyle sessions during the second leg of the Tour last weekend in Milton Keynes SNO!zone in the UK.

In total 150 Girls booked for hour- long beginner and 2 hour long Freeride sessions during 16th & 17th December at the indoor snowpark bringing the total number of Girls who participated over the first 2 UK leg’s of the Tour to a staggering 350 Girls!

Girls of all ages who came along for the day received top coaching from qualified instructors as well as tips on how to hit boxes, rails and kickers from Rip Curl team snowboarder Alexandra Barrere. Also on hand to give her expert advice on freeskiing was Britain’s no. 1 World Cup halfpipe skier Shelly Jones: “Its fantastic to see so many Girls turning up that could already ride pretty well but wanted advice on how to improve their technique and to learn the basics of how to the hit rails, boxes and kickers. It was a great weekend to be involved in and it’s good to see Rip Curl taking their Girls Tour learn-to-Surf format and applying it to the slopes,” she said.

Saturday evening saw the fun continue into the SNO!zone slope bar for the official Girls Tour party with Top girl Band Voodoo Hussey Rocking a 45minute set followed by top DJ’s.

Finally, the weekend finished on a high note with top prizes including a Rip Curl Snowboard and Davidoff Cool Water gift sets being had by some lucky winners who entered into the ECO RIDER QUIZ. Girls were encouraged to read–up about Mountain awareness and environment issues provided by the SUMMIT RIDER FOUNDATION expo, then answer simple questions before the winners were drawn out of a hat at the end of the weekend.
