Photographer, Nick Olson and his partner Lilah Horwitz packed up their things, leaving their old lives behind them to embark on a new journey together in the mountains of West Virginia, USA.

For their very first date, the couple spent the day exploring the beauty of the West Virginian Mountains before watching the sunset.

With nothing but nature all around and a view to die for, they idly wondered what it would be like to live in such a tranquil place, in a house made of windows.

Having fallen in love with wilderness, they knew this was where they wanted to spend the rest of their lives.

Whilst most of us would only dream of such a home, Nick and Lilah grasped their dream with both hands, determined to make it a reality.

Within a year, the couple had quit their jobs and begun their journey to the mountains, collecting unwanted windows at every stop.

Before long, they reached the exact spot they spent their first date, the place they would build their dream home.

It didn’t take long for their vision to come to life. The cottage boasts a whole side made entirely from windows, so they will never miss another Virginian sunset again.

Filmmakers, Half Cut Tea met with the couple to re-create this fairy tale and make it into the short movie above, following the stages of this idea.
