Adventure Women

To Raise Brave Girls, Encourage Adventure | This Video Is The Most Inspiring Thing We’ve Seen All Week…

How do we raise our daughters to be strong women? The awesome Caroline Paul has an amazing answer....

How do you teach girls to be brave? While little boys seem to have an unlimited capacity for gutsiness, too often girls can become anxious and scared in testing situations.

Caroline Paul thinks that the answer to this is adventure. The awesome writer (who also used to work for the fire department and teach paragliding) believes that to raise strong and confident women, we must allow them to have adventures and take risks as children.

When girls have adventures, not only are they having an amazing time being kids, they’re also doing three things. They get outside their comfort zone, they call upon their resilience and find confidence in themselves and their own decisions.

Here at Cooler, we’ve known for a long time that playing outside, getting mucky and doing things that scare you are the quickest ways to live a happy life. It’s important to learn through experience that bravery isn’t a lack of fear, it’s the ability to see other things as more important than fear and work past it.

Through teaching girls to take risks and rely on themselves in the park and the playroom, we are giving the women of the future the skills to take risks and be brave in their work, in their opinions and in their life decisions.

Gutsy girls skateboard, climb trees, clamber around, fall down, scrape their knees, get right back up — and grow up to be brave women. Learn how to spark a little productive risk-taking and raise confident girls in the video below.
