Our former cover girl, UK longboard champ and latest addition to Hawaiian Pro Designs, Candice O’Donnell tells us why she loves their boards so much and what makes them special

Hawaiian Pro Designs was founded by none other than Donald Takayama master surfboard shaper/designer, With over 50 years of experience in the shaping room Donald had mentored the likes of David Nuuhiwa, Joel Tudor, Stephan Slater, and Kassia Meador.

Since the start of my surfing career I dreamt of riding for HPD, the quality of their team and the flawlessness of board design had caught my attention, i then picked up my first hand shaped Donald Takayama longboard back in 2007 and nothing has compared since.

It is an absolute honor to now be a part of this legendary team, and I look forward to riding many waves with a Donald Takayama design under my feet to guide me for years to come.
