Bethany Hamilton Gave Birth To A Baby Boy – And The Photo Is Unbelievably Cute

We can't wait to see him on a surfboard...

We’re all big fans of Bethany Hamilton here at Cooler HQ – so we were stoked to see that the 25 year-old surfer announced the birth of her baby boy this week!

In true 21st century style, the couple released this cuter than words picture on Instagram. Bethany and her husband, Adam Dirks, named their little one Tobias after his great grandfather.

These Amazing Photos Show What It’s Like To Surf When Six Months Pregnant

As cool as ever, Bethany remained active for the whole of her pregnancy. She eventually gave up surfing during the later stages, but her photos of ocean swims and mountain hikes on Instagram put a lot of us to shame. There really is no excuse to not be active.

The world has admired Bethany ever since 2003 when she lost her arm in a shark attack aged just 13. The Hawaiian surfer continued to pursue her dream of becoming a professional surfer.

It only took her a mere four weeks to get back on to the board, and just over a year later she was winning her first national title.

Should You Surf When You’re Pregnant?

Her story was made into a film in 2011, inspired by the autobiography she released in 2004, Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board.

Even though she’s been kicking ass in surfing competitions even while pregnant, Bethany said she found the thought of taking care of a baby with one arm ‘challenging’. Don’t worry Bethany; we’re pretty sure you #got it.

She promised plenty of Instagram snaps of little Tobias once she gets him into the ocean, which will probably happen very soon – we can’t wait!
