If you had any doubts about the future of our beloved sport this season, you should have attended one of the many Girls Shred Sessions QParks held in their parks all Europe this winter. With unstoppable motivation (who cares about blizzards?!) and an unstillable hunger for money shots, the finale culminated in the Blue Tomato Kings Park Hochkönig end of March.

Loads of GRILS POWER was unleashed in Mühlbach at the Hochkönig when the Blue Tomato Kings Park hosted a “Girls Only” session including pro coaching, Nikita board test area, goodie session and a film- and photo shooting.

Next to the numerous snowboardettes, celebrities from the national and international freeski scene were also on site: the current “Freeski Queen” Lisa Zimmermann showed up as well as the Austrian
freeski champion and vice champion Regina Rathgeb and Philo Bair.

The mission was obvious: for one day, the female park guests should be in the spotlight. Therefore all ladies were called upon to spend a relaxing day on the mountain among likeminded people, no matter if beginner, intermediate or pro. The Blue Tomato crew took care of the ladies and provided free coffee and cakes. A further highlight was certainly the Nikita board test area. All ladies had the chance to test the brandnew board models – yes, Nikita just recently started to produce snowboards!

Both pro coaches Vanessa Waldenhofer and Ana Rumiha were on hand with assistance and advice for the ladies and eyed up their moves. They were highly surprised by the progress and commitment of the ladies. Vanessa told us: “It’s incredible how many ladies came here today – where are they hiding the rest of the time? It’s really impressive seeing the commitment they show and how fast they learn new tricks – it’s really fun to be ‘coach’ at this event.”

At the end of the session every lady had the chance to show her skills at the “Goodie for Trick Session”. For every perfectly stomped and highly technical trick there were some nice goodies from Blue Tomato and Nikita to rake in.

Thanks to all the ladies who took part – you were AWESOME! Show up more often in the snowparks, all guys will be thankful.
