Forget the Olympics, the greatest show on Earth has headed Europe’s way! Nitro Circus Live touched down in Stockholm on Sunday and is now charging its’ way through 7 countries with 13 ground-dropping, heart-stopping, eye-popping shows for us to witness. The World’s biggest action sports spectable will treat crowds to a two and a half hour fully choreographed show, with FMX, BMX, skate as well as shopping trollies, a Barbie car and a drinks cooler dropping in on the Gigant-a-ramp! Who can predict what will go down! To work out what its all about, we chatted to legendary skater, former Cooler cover girl and Nitro Circus tour veteran, Lyn-Z Adams about what it means to be part of the show and what we should get ready to witness…

Why is being Lyn-Z Adams good right now?
I get to travel the world with my awesome husband and I have the coolest job ever. I skateboard for a living!

Yes you do! And, why do you love skating?
I love skating because it’s a way to express myself and I’ve never learned everything. There is always something to be learned!

And ‘Nitro Circus Live’ is your next challenge, how does it feel to be part of the greatest stunt show on Earth?
It’s really fun to do a Nitro tour in such a tight knit group. We’ve become quite the family! This will be the fifth tour, adding up to 5 plus months of time together, so it’s a fun tour. We push each other and ourselves to do new awesome things and its fun to travel with all your friends!

So it’s just you and Jolene that are the girls in the gang?
Yes, Jolene and I, and then Lauren Nicholls, she’s been announcing the Pepsi tour. But she is just doing one show on the European tour. But ye, there is pretty much three of us. On the last tour a load of wives and girlfriends and family came on along which was really nice.

You have 40 cities to hit up, sounds like it’s going to be a crazy tour! What are you personally looking forward to?
Well I haven’t had much of a chance to travel a whole lot in Europe. I’ve been to Prague, Paris, Germany… London and that’s really it. It’s going to be really cool for me to see all the different locations.

Did you get a chance to skate whilst across on the pre-tour?
I didn’t, and I didn’t bring my skate stuff on this trip. I checked the weather and it said it was going to be rainy! I hope that we have time to do some skating alongside the actual shows while on tour. It seems like there are some really cool parks over here!

You’re a legend already at 22, what’s been a highlight of your career so far?
I’d have to say, when I landed a McTwist 540 at Le Grande Palais in Paris. To do it in a venue like that, it was a gorgeous, packed with people, this huge show with Tony Hawk the legend himself. He’s always been a mentor to me and he was on the microphone, done skating and I was the last person to drop-in. Shouting at the crowd ‘who wants to see her land it?’ I saw the line and it happened. I felt the energy of the entire crowd; it felt like everybody was cheering me on and rooting for me. I had all the confidence in the world because of that!

Have you since thought about the 9 or the 7?
I haven’t really thought about 9’s or 7’s, it be cool to learn a different variation of the 5. The 7.. seems like it could be possible but I haven’t visited it yet. It would be cool…

You rip at vert, bowl, street, mega…
Right now my favourite thing is definitely mega ramp or mini mega ramp or the Nitro Circus touring ramp, which we call the Gigant-a-ramp. It’s something different. I’ve skated vert for so long its nice to have something different and I’ve always been one to not do what everyone else is doing. Its fun to learn new tricks and to, right now, to be one of the only girls doing it. I hope some other girls get into it so maybe we can start competing on that as well.

What do you think pushed you to go bigger, be gnarlier than most people and get involved with things like Nitro Circus?
I really fell in love with the sport especially when I started really learning things. Because it took me a while, I was very challenged at first! But finally it clicked one day and it was all I could think about. Eat, breath, sleep… everything was skateboarding!

And how do you go about learning new tricks?
I usually see someone do something or I’m skating with friends and they say ‘hey why don’t you try this’ And so I give it a go, see how close or far I am. I ask a lot of questions, I’m never afraid to ask for peoples opinion or help. If it’s a new trick you don’t know how it feels to do it!

So what tricks should we prepare our eyes to witness you throw at Nitro in Europe?
It’s hard to say. I learned a few new tricks on the last tour so I will definitely be doing those. I’m riding a smaller board and am a lot more comfortable so I should learn a lot more this time too!

How should the European crowd prepare itself so we can be the best crowd on tour?
Definitely rest your voice before you show up. The more you scream the better we do!
