Knit your own Fab lolly sunglasses case! A classic for your shades to chill in…

You will need:
*Knitting needles – 3 ¾ mm
*Yarn – 3 x 25g ball 4ply (1 red, 1 white, 1 brown)
*Darning/Knitter’s needle
*Embroidery thread (white, pink and orange)
*2 pieces of beige felt measuring 7cm by 3cm
*White Velcro – 14cm
*Glue gun
*Basic knitting skills
Knitting
Cast on 34 stitches in red yarn.
Then, starting with a knit row, work 16 rows of stocking stitch. Change colour to white, work 16 rows of stocking stitch. Change colour to brown and work another 16 rows stocking stitch. Cast off!
Because it’s knitted in stocking stitch, the fabric will be curling at the edges, so before you make it into a sunglasses case very gently press the fabric with an iron on a low heat so it lies flat.
Stickin’ & Stitchin’
First you need some sprinkles on your Fab. Add these to the brown knitted section using the embroidery thread and straight stitch.
Now it’s ready to be made into a case, here goes…
Fold the knitting in half so that the back of the knitting is facing you. Using the corresponding colour of yarn, sew up the left hand side and across the top of the case.
Cut both your pieces of beige felt so they’re shaped like a lollipop stick at one end. Now take your Velcro and cut it in two, one piece 6cm long and the other piece 8cm.
Place your felt lollipop stick in the centre and stick the top to the knitting using your glue gun (do this on both sides). Pull apart your two pieces of Velcro and stick the longer piece across the bottom of the case, and the shorter to the lollipop stick (see picture). Leave the glue to dry, then…
Your Fab case
Turn the case the right way out, et voila, you have yourself a knitted sunglasses case that looks like an ice lolly! This Fab case is the perfect size to keep your sunglasses in but there’s tons of other stuff you could keep in here. Ice cream money for example!
