The head of design of the first ever female glove brand Bliss by Level shares her insights in life and the Italian snowboard scenes

I grew up in Bologna, Italy with an older brother, Valerio, who taught me to appreciate all kinds of music, as he is a drummer in a SkaRock band. He took me along to a lot of concerts, like AC/DC and the Foo Fighters etc.! He is also the one who brought me to snowboarding, when I was 15 I watched him compete in a contest in Plan De Corones and decided to quit skis after 10 years of skiing. I wanted to try to be like him!

I have loved the mountains and the nature since I was really young and it has already been 12 years since I first got into boardsports! I’m absolutely in love with this world and I never want to change this way of life for anything else.

A few years ago my boyfriend’s cousin, Max Perotti, marketing boss of Level Gloves, told me that they were looking for a girl to design a new collection called Bliss by Level. So I started to work with Level, and now I’m the designer of Bliss by Level gloves, I take care of the marketing and communication, and I’m the team manager of the Bliss by Level International Team.

The female snowboard scene has really grown up over the years, I fully realized that at the last BEO. The girls have reached a really high level in skills and style, and it’s not an easy thing do to because we know that the snowboard world is pretty “masculine”.

If I could, I would do more competitions for the women. There are only few contests for us, most are only for the men and women can’t participate. I believe that the level would rise even more if women had a wider circuit, but companies need to invest more and believe in the women’s market more.

Italian snowboarders are very different from other Europeans; first of all because there are so few, you can count them on the fingers of one hand. We should especially push the girls in Italy, but this rarely happens except in a few cases, such as the women-only camps organized by Eleonora Raggi (Disoriented Camp) and Manuela Marani (Chicks on Board). But we are really proud of Bibi Maiocco, she is an amazing snowboarder and she can compete with the European scene, like Tania Detomas.

I think Livigno is the best resort to ride. There are two huge snow parks and the slopes are easy, if you wanna learn some tricks and have fun with friends!

My future I see in New York though, it’s the best city to live, you can find anything you want to do, I’m love with NY. It’s the place where I want to live with my family and friends. Oon the other hand, Italy is always Italy. Best food, best resort, so…who knows!
