Aimee Fuller “meets selection criteria” for Winter Olympics in Sochi next month, but Elena Hight misses on spot in US team

We got the BEST NEWS EVER to start the week. Former Cooler cover star and proper good pal of the mag Aimee Fuller looks set to be announced in the Team GB snowboard squad for the Winter Olympics 2014 on Wednesday. When the pressure was on and she needed at least a top eight score she bagged fifth at the last FIS World Cup event in Stoneham, Canada meaning she’s met the required selection criteria, alongside the mighty double Cooler cover star Jenny Jones who had already secured her place. Bring it on!

The Team GB Adidas kit was released today too so we’re looking forward to seeing them represent in it, though hopefully they’ll be going nowhere near that white ski gilet thing.

In less rad news the mini super shredder Katie Ormerod didn’t make the cut this time but she’s definitely one to watch for 2018. Another Cooler favourite  Elena Hight (above) didn’t make the US half pipe squad, following the final qualifying event in Mammoth on the weekend, so the first woman to throw down a double cork in a contest won’t be attending her third Winter Olympics. Nor will Gretchen Bleiler, instead Kelly Clark and Hannah Teter will be joined by Arielle Gold and Kaitlyn Farrington.
