Just got back from the Animal Windfest down in Poole, (well actually got back a couple of weeks ago now, but have been pretty slack getting this blog posted!!) Had an amazing weekend! Not only was there windsurfing, kitesurfing and thundercats to watch out on the water, but there as also the beach ball, bike tour and pool gap events keeping everyone entertained on the beach.

As I was wakeboarding at the event, I spent most of the weekend at the pool gap. Basically 3 pools built into the beach, with 2 sets of rails connecting them. The idea being to ride from the top pool, over one of the first rails, into the second pool, onto another rail, and then hopefully land in one piece in the bottom pool. Oh and I forgot to explain, it works because you have a winch towing you!

As I’d never even ridden a winch before, I was pretty nervous looking at the pool set up: C box & flat bar at the top, and then a Nessy rail, gap rail and wall ride making up the bottom section. But as soon as I gave it a go, with some advice from the boys and support from the crowd, I was loving it! Was awesome to ride with such a good group of guys too, Matt, Antz, Marc, Dan, Lee, Terry, Harry and Nick all killing it. Especially Matt’s stack and consequent stitches on the Nessy… nice!

So yeh… what with the riding, the beach, the sun, the Sat night party, and all the wicked Animal crew, it was a sick weekend! Thanks to everyone for making it such a great event… and bring on next year!
