Arrival in Morzine!

We successfully made the 12 hour journey to Morzine and have settled into our lovely apartment. I had a brief panic about living with someone for the first time but after an excellent few blue sky days on the mountain I seem to be relaxing into the situation.

We have already cruised to Mont-Chery and enjoyed the quiet runs there and the snowboard park. The Les Gets Snowboard Park is pretty fresh this year for those getting started or learning new tricks as they have 3 smooth blue jumps and then two friendly boxes in a line. I have also made time to hit The Stash (Burton’s park that is full of park benches, tables and logs to ride) and we have had a quick visit to the mini park at Avoriaz (Snowpark de la Chapelle).

The Morzine Tourist Board have kindly briefed us on all the happening events that I can participate in and cover for Coolermag.com over the season. My personal favourite will be watching the Husky Race (La Grande Odyssee) in the next few weeks. I am likely to see as many as 300 dogs racing over the next 5 days through the Portes du Soleil!

I am excited about participating on the Rude Chalets Girls Snowboarding Camp (starts today, 4th Jan). Rude Chalets have planned a great week and I am looking forward to park training sessions, yoga classes, sledging and having a guide – report to follow….
