After achieving enormous success on a international spectrum, Bench has moved on to open it’s first standalone store in Berlin. With offices in England and Munich, uber-cool Berlin was a perfect choice for Bench to blueprint it’s store design for future store openings throughout Europe and Germany.
The store design orients itself on the core brand values of urbanity, street-oriented and anti-fashion. The contemporary design allows street artists to express themselves and show their designs, the first artist is NOMAD, a Berlin based famous street artist of the “reclaim the streets” movement. He also designed the limited edition VIP-bag which was handed out at the Pre Opening Party.
The main windows feature mannequins with computer screens instead of heads; customers are recorded in store and can see themselves on the screen.
Other features are sculpted steel fixtures made from reclaimed metal to portray the urban feel and the showpiece is a 5metre long tube leading to the fitting rooms with varying lights and colours to enhance the mood.
The store has 2 changing areas; the first is made with logo printed lorry cover fabric and steel elements adding to the urban feel. The second has a door made from a brand new fabric; “see through concrete”. This fabric is a prototype and has made it’s first appearance for commercial application in the Bench Berlin store.
The 140 square metres on the popular Rosenthaler Str. stocks men and women collections and accessories.
