Billabong’s 6th Design for Humanity

While we never actually make it over the pond to attend this amazing event that combines charity with style and glamour like no other, we can’t help ourselves but announcing it since it’s just too great a happening not to (and you never know if one day our prayers might be heard…)

So here we go again, the 6th Design for Humanity celebration of fashion, art and music is going down on Wednesday, July 25th, 2012 in the “NY Street” backlot of the Paramount Studios in Hollywood and benefit the Cultivate Foundation.

With three stages, this year’s event is designed to feel like a music festival, including performances by Walk the Moon, Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers and The Joy Formidable, and of course a sneak peek of the 2013 collection, of which several selected looks will be available for purchase at billabong.com on the day of the event. The art show this year is called UNLEARN | RELEARN and features the works of over 25 artists including Maya Hayuk, Deedee Cheriel, Justin Krietmeyer, Chris Betting, Lisa Solberg, Damion Silver and Mark Warren Jacques, to name a few.

100% of this year’s ticket sales and proceeds from art auction and product collaboration sales are being donated to the Cultivate Foundation, a new foundation aimed at supporting people, organizations and institutions that are committed to making a better, more sustainable future through their work to improve individual family farms, the environment, as well as youth and education programs. The Cultivate Foundation is dedicated to “creating a sustainable, healthful and equitable food future.”
