If you haven’t heard about the new feature film Chalet Girl, you must be living behind the moon. It’s been all over everything concerning action sports, from Basa Stevulova’s behind the scenes report for our latest issue to the Roxy podcast and finally came to the Hemel Snow Center in London and the Chill Factore in Manchester last week, for some riding, shopping and chatting.
A perfect combination, as our women in the field, Catherine Peck, reported afterwards: “I was mega stoked to have been taught by Aimee and Basa; they both have all the skills and I was also inspired by their style, they are such great riders and got the looks and style as well. It is one thing learning the tricks but I might as well look cool while I am doing them.”
Apart from the anticipation for the movie, it was also great fun to get some info directly from the pros itself. “I found out from Michelle, the Roxy UK marketing manager that the Roxy girls did just 6 days of filming to get the action shots for the Chalet Girl movie. They did 2 days of filming in St Anton, Austria in March and then 4 days of filming in Kaunertal, Austria. Michelle mentioned that they did not have contingency days for if it was a white out but she said lucky the weather was in their favour. I asked what would have happened if it was a flat day and Michelle said that the film set had a massive light for their own fake sun which was used at 7.30am in the morning to give the impression that they were in the middle of a sunny day, so the film crew could control the weather to a certain extent.”
We got even more excited to see the movie and hope you guys are as well! Launch date is from March 16th in Europe, other countries might be a bit later though.
