US shredder Clair Bidez is the latest addition to the Nikita snowboard team. Clair has been riding strong all season, with podium finishes at the Grand Prix, the Jeep King of the Mountain series and a much-coveted spot in the Winter X Games.
The 21-year-old Colorado native burst on to the scene when she was crowned Junior World Champion in 2006. Although she spent the ’07 season out with injury, Clair returned to the halfpipe with a vengeance, placing 5th at the Vans Cup in 2007, her first event back. Then in the summer of ’07, she took best trick at the Abominable Snow Jam with a perfect frontside 900 and 3rd in the event overall.
This season Clair has been boosting higher and riding stronger than ever. She left Idaho with a silver medal from the Grand Prix event at Tamarack and also took second at Squaw Valley in the Jeep King of the Mountain halfpipe event.
Clair got the chance to meet and ride with the Nikita team this February in Lake Tahoe at the Nikita Snow photo shoot. “The new line looks great and all the girls were so much fun,” she said. “I am really excited to be part of such a great team.”
She joins team riders such as Jordie Karlinski, Maribeth Swetkoff, Vera Janssen and Kaitlyn Farrington, among others, rocking Nikita streetwear and outerwear.
“We are really psyched to have Clair on the team,” Nikita USA Marketing Director Josh Chauvet said. “She is not just great at pipe, but a solid all-round rider as well and she’ll be a great ambassador for our outerwear line, on the podium and off!”
