etnies Girl and ThirtyTwo Sign Snowboarder Marie-France Roy

etnies Girl and ThirtyTwo proudly announce the addition of Canadian snowboarder, Marie-France Roy, to their exciting roster. Hailing from Whistler, this self-proclaimed “hucker” is ready to go big with style this season!

A snowboarder since the age of 11, “MFR” quickly made a name for herself and turned pro in 2004. In 2005, she placed first in slopestyle at the Nikita Chikita Snowdown, first in slopestyle and best trick slopestyle at the Abominable Snow Jam as well as earned a nomination for TransWorld Snowboarding’s ‘Female Rookie of the Year’. In 2006, she frequented the podium for her best trick accomplishments and continues to impress anyone blessed with the chance to see her ride.

“I’m so stoked Marie-France Roy is finally on the team, it’s about time,” says etnies Girl and ThirtyTwo team rider, Leanne Pelosi. “MFR has been silently pushing the sport for the last few years, and she’s come a long way since sleeping in her car during her first season at Whistler.”

Roy is one of the few female riders to successfully land a 900 and has also scored video parts and recognition in Rome’s ‘Any Means’, Runway Films ‘Lalaland’ and ‘Float’.

This season, Roy will be keeping busy on the contest scene, competing at the etnies GvR of Snow, Winter X Games 12, US Open of Snowboarding, Honda Vail Sessions, the Abominable Snow Jam and a handful of other events.
