Burton Scrap Metal Hits MK

On 31st October, Milton Keynes Snozone is playing host to the most creative snowboarding event in the UK calendar. With obstacles more akin to Scrapheap Challenge than an indoor snow dome, Burton Scrap Metal promises to deliver a very entertaining night with snowboarders challenged to get creative on industrial props to take home the top prize.

The whole idea of the Scrap Metal is to stick riders in front of objects that they would not usually see at their local fridge, pushing the rider technically and creatively, while satisfying a craving to jib something new and fresh. Without a doubt taking inspiration from parks like Bear and Park City which are constantly pushing the boundaries in terms of features, Scrap Metal will be doing the same in three of the UKs top indoor snowdomes.

The competition will be in a slopestyle format with a typical jam qualifying session going into a two run final to finish. As you would expect, there will be plenty of swag to get your grubby little mitts on and the chance to be crowned the 2008 Burton Scrap Metal Champion.

After successful stops in Tamworth and Braehead, the Burton Scrap Metal contest will be making it’s final stop at Milton Keynes Sno’ Zone on the 31st October 2008 from 7-11pm.

It’s free for spectators, so pop along and get stoked for the slopes.
