The European Freeski Open by Swatch will be kicking off in Laax from March 17–21, 2009.

For the fourth year, the season highlight of European Freesking will be heading to Laax, Switzerland, where over 200 competitors from all over the world will be showcasing their skills in slopestyle and halfpipe, riding for a share of the $50,000 prize pot.

All the competition action will happen in the contest area around Crap Sogn Gion mountain, with extra events and live concerts kicking off all over the valley. The open format offers all amateur riders the opportunity to participate alongside the international invited freeski pro’s.

Among the former EFO winners are Virginie Faivre (SUI), Sarah Burke (CAN) and Candide Thovex (FRA). If you fancy trying to add your name to that list, check out the event website – online rider registration will start end of January 2009.
