London didn’t know what had hit it on Monday 31st July as special guests were treated to a sneak preview of etnies Girl’s exciting Spring 07 collection at London west end’s CC Club.
Not one to do things traditionally, etnies Girl presented their Spring 07 collection on six dancers, who performed a freestyle street dance routine choreographed to show off the diversity of the brand and which was styled by Uju Eze (Topshop style adviser).
Divided into two themes, the Bon Voyage dancers opened the show with highlight pieces such as the Wilderness dress, with all over leopard print, and the Arken tube dress in white and blue nautical stripe, which illustrated the retro travel theme of the line which features polka dots, nautical themes and safari prints.
Laying on the attitude, the Cowboy Junkies theme followed suit which mixes 80’s brights and indie edge with trailer park chic. Highlights included the Tuesday Tank, a fine knit striped round-neck top that was teamed up with bright white jeans and the Heartbreaker Sheer Tee in electric yellow with a bone and heart graphic printed on the inside for a subtle effect.
Stripes, zebra print, polka dots, horseshoes and bright colours also feature in the shoe collection for that perfect match. And who else thought that the green and white zebra print luggage was just to die for!
The main parts of the collection were on display in the VIP room and guests walked away with goody bags filled with Bacardi, Montagne Jeunesse facemasks and etnies Girl summer goodies.
Guests partied into the night tucking into miniature burgers, and fish & chips, whilst Bacardi mixed up some summer cocktails. Entertainment was laid on by Yes King Records that did a live set with female vocalist Ayak and MC Baby Chan and tunes were later laid down by DJ Charlotte from Guilty Pleasures, Sweet Mayhem and Resident at Bowery Dandies – DJ Sophie.
Special thanks go to Bacardi, The Park, Cooler magazine, Yes King, Big Chief Production, Uju Eze and London School of Hair & Beauty.
