The Billabong Air & Style Quarter Pipe is set to kick off on the 2nd February in Innsbruck. 12,000 fans will be flooding the Bergisel Stadium in a bid to get a front row seat for the shredding contest.
There have been a few changes to the competitors list due to injury, with Marco Smolla (GER) replaced by Kim Rune Hansen (NOR), winner of the Quarter Pipe in Davos beginning of this year, and Henning Marthinsen (NOR) and Janne Korpi (FIN) being substituted by Daisuke Murakami (JPN) and Peetu Piiroinen (FIN). Matts Kulisek has bagged the 24th rider spot to compete at the Billabong Air & Style thanks to securing a wildcard with his success at the Billabong Ante Up in Calgary, Canada.
Top class contestants include Antti Autti (FIN), Risto Mattila (FIN), Scotty Lago (USA), Kevin Pearce (USA) and Terje Haakonsen (NOR), who will be battling it out to qualify with three runs each. Only the best eight riders will qualify for the final, where they will get another three runs to prove themselves worthy of the top podium spot.
