Freeze Snowsports and Music Festival

Freeze, the UK’s only snow sports and music festival, will be taking place at Battersea Power Station in London this October.

The ‘Freesports on 4 Freeze’ festival sponsored by LG will be bringing winter to the capital from 23-26th October, as Battersea Power Station is transformed into a ski resort, featuring the biggest real snow jump ever made in the UK with an impressive live music line-up to match.

The world’s best snowboarders and skiers will descend on the banks of the River Thames to shred the 17m table top snow jump created for the LG London Big Air Event, part of the LG FIS World Cup. All riders will be fighting it out for £15,000 and vital ratings points in their goal to become World Champions. In a bid to give the UK’s home grown talent an opportunity to challenge the world’s best, Freeze will also hold the Battle of Britain with the top performers gaining precious FIS points enabling them to compete in the main event, The LG London Big Air.

Freeze will also see the culmination of the LG Freeze Air Bag Tour. In the month leading up to the event the tour will be hitting indoor and dry slopes across the UK, giving skiers and snowboarders the chance to get creative with their style whilst relying on a giant bag to catch them. The 14m x 8m LG Freeze Air Bag will be open to the most innovative riders who have seasoned it during the tour in an invitational pro-am jam format.

Once the comps are completed, attention will turn to the giant 10,000 capacity Kayam tent hosting some of the best live music on offer in the UK, complimented by a host of genuine après ski bars and a bundle of movie premieres, including Grenade’s Boned Age, Forum’s Forum or Against’EM and the English production Bread and Buttered.

With such an action-packed four days, the guys from Relentless will be on hand to answer all your energy needs by taking over the Blizzard Bar and serving up some legendary cocktails. The bar will also host a stage every evening featuring some of the most exciting new music forces around at the moment, including The Holloways, Example and The Ghost Frequency. Not only is the energy drink bringing a choice selection from their musical stable, we can also expect some of their finest winter sports riders gunning for glory at the event. With Gary Greenshield and Tom West representing snowboarding comps and Joe Tyler shredding in the skiing fields.

Other attractions include a genuine ski village with shops lining the main resort ‘high street’ where you’ll be able to pick up bargains from last year and check out the latest kit about to hit the slopes.
