The Burton Global Open Series announced today that live event webcasts of the event will be available on Go211. Webcasts will feature the halfpipe and slopestyle semifinals and finals at the Burton European Open Snowboarding Championships taking place on January 11-18, 2008 at Laax, Switzerland.
Go211 will be providing cool interactive technologies, such as producing the entire webcast with live scoring, live standings, rider bios, and a live chat, where viewers can submit comments to the web announcers, as well as communicate with other webcast viewers from around the world. Live morning shows will kick off the finals for both halfpipe and slopestyle competitions by recapping the semifinals action and interviewing riders.
“We are really happy to have the opportunity to bring the Burton European Open to a global audience in real time via the Go211.com webcasts,” said Liam Griffin, Events Director for Burton Snowboards. “I think anyone who enjoys watching snowboarding is going to have a lot of fun with the technology that Go211 will be incorporating into the streams.”
Sean Aruda, CEO of Go211, said: “As the BEO is one of the pre-eminent snowboarding events in Europe, Go211 is very excited to host the webcasts. In addition to the webcast, Go211 will be hosting a BEO micro site with additional video, rider blogs, images, and more. Go211 will be the place to go for in-depth information on the Burton European Open.”
Bryan Johnston, Senior VP of Global Marketing for Burton, adds: “Burton is thrilled to have Go211 as an official webcast partner for the Burton Global Open Series, beginning with this month’s Burton European Open in Laax.”
Be sure to check out the schedule for the free BEO webcasts on Go211.com.
