Jamie Anderson stands her ground at O’Neill Evolution slopestyle

Jamie Anderson know how it's done

While the men just started hitting the slopestyle course at the TTR 6star O’Neill Evolution in Davos, the ladies already set up a great show in the Slopestyle finals this afternoon.

With a huge jump (“and quite poppy too” as we learnt from Cheryl Maas) and a choice of rail, pole jump and kinked box, the set up looked great and the weather decided to play along as well with beautiful sunshine and perfect visibility.

And the girls knew exactly how to use it, especially Czech shooting star Sarka Pancochova and former TTR champ Jamie Anderson (USA), who fought a fierce battle for the top spot. Scoring very similarly on their first runs (2 points more for Sarka’s BS 3 and gap to BS boardslide than the BS 3 Gap to Tailslide from Jamie), they both bailed in their second runs, leaving Sarka in pole for the finals. But only to hand over the lead to Jamie after her first run, consisting of a BS 3 and gap to FS boardslide to 270. Of course Sarka had to throw back on this, promptly winning her lead back with a massive BS 5 and switch boardslide to gap to switch boardslide.

And Aimee Fuller is starting to get a grip on it too

So as we, the audience, like it best, the last run was going to be the defining one. And Jamie did proof why she already got one TTR and more than countable other trophies at home by stepping it up another notch with another perfect BS 5 and an super clean switch boardslide to backside boardslide, that the Czech shred manic couldn’t outplay anymore.

Biggest surprise of the day was British talent Aimee Fuller though. Already sending clean 3s in the semi finals (that got her in 3rd position), she stomped another huge BS 3 and even attempted a BS7, which all in all got her to 5th place in the finals. “That was a really fun contest with a nice big jump, probably the biggest jump I’ve ever hit. But I enjoyed it a lot and definitely stepped it up a bit from my normal riding, especially on my second run I went quite deep” she smiled afterwards.

We’re going to head out again to watch the finals of the men’s slopestyle contest, check out the livestream at oneill.com!
