Despite the blazing sunshine and almost sweaty temperatures outside, we spent our lunch break in front of our computers today, to watch Jamie Anderson win another gold medal at the Euro X Games 2012, the first female back to back gold ever. And her cab 7, BS 5, and FS 7 definitely deserved it.
But there was of course more great action going on at women’s slopestyle finals, and even though the live webcast deprived us from most of the second run, we got a good look at what went down.
And it wasn’t totally obvious that Jamie would win at all, as Spencer O’Brien threw down one hell of a run as well, including a BS 5, followed by switch BS and FS 7 off the toes. The 92.6 points she got for that one wasn’t enough to beat Jamie’s score tho, which already started with a 96 one in the first run and was apparently even raised to 98 in the second run that we missed. Enni Rukajärvi showed some solid skills too, with a nice Cab 5, FS 7 and style tail tap on the second rail set in the first run. Completing the top 5 are Kjersti Buaas, who only turned her fate around in the third run and moved herself up from 10th to 4th, and baby doll Silje Norendal in 5th.
Jenny Jones couldn’t live up to her full form after being injured most of the season, and even though Aimee Fuller threw down some stylish underflips, she missed out on scores from the jib section and ended in the middle of the riders field.
Watch the winning runs below and wait for the formal release for the other ranks!
