Kana Miss Cup kicks off today in France

The 6th edition of the KanaMissCup is kicking off today at Hourtin Beach in France for a 3 days of exciting surf competition.

Europe’s best female surfers will be battling it out in the waves until Sunday in a bid to win the top podium spot and a share of the prize money. French prodigy Pauline Ado and Spanish rider Nikita Robb are hotly tipped for success.

Competition kicks off at 1.30pm today with a fireworks display on the beach. The second round will get started on Saturday at 8am.

The Kana Miss Cup is not only about watching some of the world’s best female surfers in action, it’s also a great excuse to spend some time partying on the beach. On Saturday at 9pm, The Blueberries will be showcasing their talent live on the beach stage, with AK 47 – a band comprised of team riders on the KanaMissCup tour – will be on stage at the Surf Bar in Hourtin at 11.30pm.

No partying for the contestants though, as on Sunday the final 16 will be hitting the waves in a bid to win a place for the quarter finals starting just before lunch. At around 4.30pm, the awards ceremony will take place to crown the winner of the KanaMissCup 2008.
