In 1997, KanaBeach launched the first French surf event only for girls, named KanaBeach Challenge. This year’s offering will be taking place from 16-20th May, 2007, at Cavaliers Beach in Anglet, France.
From now on the brand new re-named ‘KanaMissCup’, will be the primary event in the french female surfing calendar. It will include a test of the Shortboard European Championship and a contest for entry into the Longboard World Championship.
The initial goal of this competition was to offer lady riders a competition especially dedicated to them and to contribute to the development of women’s surfing.
In 2007, KanaMissCup includes, as on the previous editions, two days of amateur competition for under-18s, then three days of competition for the pros.
From May 16-20th, 2007, the elite of European and International surf women will meet in the Basque Country, on the mythical Plage des Cavaliers, in Anglet. The Cavaliers surfing spot is known and recognized for the excellence of its waves. It offers a playground of great quality completely appropriate to a competition of international level, such as the Kanamisscup.
On the agenda, for the pros:
• A run of the Shortboard European Championship (European Professional Surfing Association test EPSA 1 * with 2,500$ prize money)
• A selective test for the Longboard World Championship (World Qualifying Turn test – WLT *** with 5,000$ prize money)
