The US Open of Surfing 2011 kicked off this weekend, and while the crown for the ASP Women’s World Tour is already won by Carissa Moore, the Juniors are still battling for the victory. 16 years old Lakey Peterson (Santa Barbara, CA), scored the best wave of the day: “It was really hard out there, but I kept reminding myself that everyone has to surf the same thing and that really helped me. I’m really stoked to get that first heat win.” The action continues today, so stay tuned for more updates soon!
