Red Bull Flugtag makes a welcome return to London’s Hyde Park on Saturday 7th June 2008 when 40 teams of fearless inventors will compete for the coveted winner’s prize by designing, constructing and flying their man-powered machines into The Serpentine lake.

Tickets for the crazy flying extravaganza are free but limited to 80,000 and demand is expected to be high. To avoid missing out, anyone hoping to apply for a ticket should register for the ballot when it opens today.

For the lucky ticket holders, an exhilarating celebration of invention and down-right silliness will be on offer, as the home made flying machines are launched from a 20-foot ramp into the chilly waters below to compete for the coveted title of Red Bull Flugtag Champion 2008.

The competition will be judged on both the distance flown as well as level of creativity. Extra brownie points will also be awarded to teams for the most unique costumes and overall pre-flight performance, originality will be key when trying to sway the votes of the both the celebrity judges and the crowd.
