The finals of the Ladies First Challenge, the first girls only freestyle ski and snowboard tour in Switzerland, went down on Saturday, March 26th in Thyon (VS).
About twenty girls from all over Switzerland, France and the UK met at the Central Park in Thyon (VS) in order to try to get the 8000 Swiss Francs prize money that were up for grabs this year. In freeski the level was very high with enormous frontflip and backflip on the big table of 18m. The Belgian Katrien Aest was first with clean runs and an irreprochable technique on the jumps and the modules jib. The French Sarah Martinais followed very near with switch 3s perfectly pinned on the tables. The podium was completed with Silvana Casutt originating from Falera in the German part of Switzerland who proved much style on the boxes.
Tina Ramholt did it for the snowboard category. The Swiss placed a big backside 540 to switch backside 540. Domitilla Mattei of Verbier finished second with lovely runs on the boxes and the rails. The judges appreciated particularly her tail and nose press to switch on the down rail and the boxe plate of 9 m. The third place was attributed to Stéphanie Kauert, who secured all her runs of the final with beautiful back 3 on the jumps.
