Kate Foster and Emily Sarsfield take more titles at The Brits

Laax’s tropical weather combined with MC James Thorne’s whimsical banter had the crowd vibed on the banks beside the halfpipe at The Brits yesterday.

Hot weather meant that the pipe slushed-up as the British Halfpipe Championships went on but that didn’t’ stop the participants to throw down best as they could, with Kate Foster impressing judges most. Right behind her huge japan air and front and back 3’s were the 3s and bs alley oops by Nathalie Silkstone, who picked up silver. Becky Menday took bronze with front and back 3’s as well as indy, nose, mute and stalefish grabs showing she has great promise in the pipe.

Later it was time for the British Freeski Trespass Skiercross, which unfortunately had to be closed after the qualifiers due to worsening conditions. Emily Sarsfield seized her victory with a time of 49.49 seconds, followed by Michela Titchener and Beanie Milne-Home. Hopefully there will be more action to witness at the re-run in 2012.
