The news reached us as real shock this morning but unfortunately all research only confirmed that it is really true: the only 6Star TTR event just for us girls in Europe, the Roxy Chicken Jam, is cancelled.
This is a real tragedy, as the Chicken Jam with it’s amazing riding and legendary parties wasn’t only one of our very favourite events of the whole season but also played a vital part in the progression of female snowboarding. Once again it’s lacking funds that account for this rather tragic turn of events, as according to Roxy’s official statement the main co-sponsor withdrew from the event.
The Chicken Jam has been on the women’s TTR event calendar since 2004 and has become known for its fun atmosphere and progressive riding. The event has showcased the rising level of women’s riding over the years and will be missed from the TTR calendar deeply.
