Roxy Chicken Jam opens up the TTR Title Race

The first 6-Star event for the women on the Swatch TTR World Tour is about to go down in Kaprun, Austria, from December 12–13th. This all-girl event is set to be an awesome kick-off to a ripping season.

With current Swatch TTR World No.1 Jamie Anderson (USA) not in attendance, the contest is going to throw open the doors for all the other top riders to snag some valuable ranking points. Lying low for much of the Southern Hemisphere season, expect to see Torah Bright (AUS) make a grand entrance to the contest circuit at the Roxy Chicken Jam. She may be going for her second TTR Title and a good result will slam her right back into the title race, in position to halt Anderson’s charge.

Another big gun that will be mounting an assault on the contest is dynamic Dutch rider, Cheryl Maas who could move into World No. 2 with a strong top 10 finish. The German duo of Silvia Mittermueller and Conny Bleicher are two other riders in attendance who always push women’s snowboarding: a top 10 finish here could bring them back in the TTR Top 25, which should spur them on to raise the bar.

Claudia Fliri (AUT) will also be stepping it up, looking to throw down some big moves and impress on her home ground. Snapping at her heels will be hungry newcomer, Sarka Pancochova (CZE) who has the chance to leapfrog her heroes straight into the Top 10, should she manage a Top 10 result.

The women’s Swatch TTR Title race is alive and kicking. All the riders are now in with a fighting chance and the 6-Star Roxy Chicken Jam is going to play a pivotal role in deciding what will be happening this season. Stay tuned to ttrworldtour.com for live news, blogs, rankings and stats, not only from Kaprun, but also from Tokyo, where the first 6Star event for the men, the Nissan X-Trail Jam is taking place at the same time.

After the Roxy Chicken Jam, the tour goes on holiday while riders recharge their batteries, ready to unleash on the 6-Star Burton European Open, coming to you January 9th, 2009.
