Steph Gilmore advances to quarters at Roxy Pro Gold Coast

The 2012 ASP Women’s World Tour kicked off with a KABOOM at the Roxy Pro on the Gold Coast Australia.

Round 3 is done and dusted and we already have some upsets with current World Champ Carissa Moore losing her heat to Laura Enever of Australia (who we interview in the next issue, on sale end of March) and Paige Hareb of New Zealand.

She’ll get another chance to go forward in Round 4 but four of the quarter final places are now fixed with former Cooler cover girl and four times World Champ Steph Gilmore showing she’s back all guns blazing for 2012. Read last summer’s cover interview with her here.

Laura Enever, Malia Manuel and 2011 ASP Rookie of the Year (who we also interview next issue) Tyler Wright also advanced by winning their heats so they don’t have to scrap with the likes of Carissa and Sally Fitzgibbons in Round 4.

The contests’ next call is in eight hours. Watch the highlights from Round 3 below and to see who’ll be joining them in the quarters head to the Roxy Pro live feed here
