Congratulations to Elina Kranaki from Greece, who has just been announced as the winner of the European Design For Humanity Art Contest.
The creative competition sparked enthusiasm from an impressive number of entrants, with over 200 participants from all over Europe entering remarkable paintings, posters and collages in a bid to win the contest.
Participants were asked to create an original design that deals with the Design For Humanity key words: unite, imagine, love, surf, live, react, help and save. Then, the artists were rated on their originality and creativity.
In the end, the judges had a hard time deciding among so many excellent entries, and had to narrow the field down to six finalists to choose the winner.
Christelle Kipping, Girls Marketing Manager says: “We were very impressed with the high quality of the pieces, which is surely a reflcetion of the creative skills of all those who entered the competition. It is clear from the results that the Design For Humanity key words were a great source of inspiration and each entry is a credit to the creativity of its maker. Many thanks go out to everyone who participated!”
The winning artwork will now be turned into a DFH limited edition t-shirt and join the ranks of the celebrated artists Blami, JM Tixier and Andy Ward. A percentage of the sales made from this tee will be donated to Surf Aid International. The other lucky six finalists will get a full Billabong wardrobe.
