I don’t think I’ve ever been hotter for snow than this year and so neither rain on 3000 meters nor grey skies or dirty ice could dim my stoke to be back in the mountains. And after starting the Saturday with a biiig coffee break at the Fernerhaus to avoid being completely soaked, the hotzone.tv Park Opening on the Hintertux glacier held each and every promise it made! Party galore, a superb park, loads of Winter 2013/14 boards to test and most importantly: kicking off a new season!
The best part of the year is just around the corner, and UK’s Sophie Nicholls, Lipstick Production‘s local Tini Gruber and up-and-coming Völkl team rider Birgit Rofner were there to celebrate with us and try spread the stoke as far as at all possible! Because despite the weather the Betterpark was great fun to hit, as were the slopes with loads of little hits by the sides, giving you the perfect chance to get all those jib tricks back in line. With snow super slushy and soft, it felt like the best of spring riding – minus the sunburn!
