Looks like there’s no budgin’ slopestyle and halfpipe queens Jamie Anderson and Kelly Clark from their peachy positions as top dogs in their respective events. Jamie’s victory earlier last week in the Burton NZ women’s slopestyle final has been followed by Kelly’s in the half pipe event. Kelly’s victory looks set to keep the progressive pace from the previous year, which saw her scoop practically every title out there and stomp the first ever 1080 in competition.
Kelly threw down a super tight run, boosting her trademark massive airs out the pipe and claiming gold with her frontside 720, cab 720, backside 540 and frontside Cork 900 for a score of 88.10. Super steezy shredder Hannah Teter, also no stranger to the podium, laid down a sweet run, coming in second place with a method air, frontside 900, backside 540, frontside 540 and cab 360. Bronze went to diminutive Spanish shredder Queralt Castellet, one of the ballsiest chicks out there who keeps on delivering, and her backside 900, frontside 540, backside 540 and frontside 900 just inched out Gretchen Bleiler. Shit-hot riding this early in the season (heck it’s still summer)is setting the stage for what’s sure to be an exciting winter 2011/2012!!
