Kumi Yama means “mountain crew” in Japanese and the snow contest promises to bring the spirit of toriis, gongs, temples, kimonos, Pac-Man and Invaders up to the glacier at Les Deux Alpes from 1-3 July.

The link came when Nikita Chickita travelled to Japan to do its slopestyle thang earlier this year and was supported by Kumi Yama, so the event was named Nikita loves Kumi Yama. It had an awesome response and the winner Tomoko Kikuchi got an invite to this Kumi Yama.

Nikita will be sureing up its support with 500 euros of prize money for the best girl team, plus some fresh street and outerwear for runners up. And a bunch of Nikita pros including Sabrina Kusar (FR), Ana Rumiha (HR) and Cecilia Larsen (SE) will be entering.
