News reaches us that the winning entry to the 2011 Shorties contest at the London Surf Film Festival (on which your humble editor is on the judging panel) will get to see their work premiered in New York (hosted by SMASH) and Canada (hosted by the Canadian Surf Film Festival).
The inaugural London Surf Film Festival, presented by the National Trust, takes place from October 13-15 at the Riverside Studios, Hammersmith, and it promises to fuse together film, art, photography and commentary in one big wave-inspired souffle. The Shorties film contest is a key part of the event and it’s open to filmmakers from or based in the UK and Ireland. Films must be five minutes or less, so it’s a awesome opportunity for someone who fancies themselves as the next Kathryn Bigelow or maybe a female Thomas Campbell.
The closing date for entries has been extended to August 26 so what the devil are you waiting for? Head to londonsurffilmfestival.com for all the info you need.
