Wow! Just came back from a weeks photo shoot for a Wedding travel magazine in Kenya. Although I have both travelled and worked there before, I had sort of forgotten how wonderful this country is.
We were really lucky staying at some nice resorts, first the Alfajiri in Diani beach where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt stayed when they first started dating. This was a really romantic setting for all the wedding dresses I had to be photographed in. Then we went up to Tsavo national park and stayed in a really nice camp by the river where you could watch hippos and elephants from your terrace all day. This was an even cooler setting for all the wedding dresses!
There is no fence around the camp, so at night we were not allowed to move between the bandas without our private Masai. We saw lions twice which was really lucky, and then plenty of giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, buffalos, ostriches, ten different kind of antelope, jackal, etc. We also did some walking safaris, which is even nicer as it just feels more real. And when an elephant charges you, you run for your life!
Our last encounter with wildlife before leaving was an old grumpy elephant, and as they are huge and aggressive it was quite scary, but good to get the daily doses of adrenaline;-) Check out the picture how close it got!
