The 10th Annual Roxy Surf Jam coming soon to a beach near you!
The Roxy Surf Jam, the all-girl instructional surf day for girls of all ages, returns for 2007 and celebrates its 10th year! Beginning on the Sunshine Coast this Saturday, September 8th and culminating in Christchurch, New Zealand, on December 16th, the famous Roxy Surf Jam tour is expected to attract a record number of participants.
Roxy’s own team of surfers and instructors, including professional surfers Carly Smith, Selby Riddle and Jodie Smith, will travel to more than 20 coastal destinations, teaching and educating female surfers on ocean safety and surfing techniques for short and long boarders.
To help celebrate the Roxy Surf Jam’s 10th birthday, participants will be encouraged to get creative. The ‘Roxy Studio’ art tent will be set up on the beach at each and every location, with blank canvasses, sketch pads and journals available for girls to leave a message, share their stories, send a shout-out or draw pictures. Roxy’s artist, Ryan Heywood, will be on hand to assist girls with their creativity and encourage them to go mad with pens, paints, crayons and stencils!
Also new to 2007 is the awarding of six surfing scholarships. At the culmination of the Roxy Surf Jam tour, six participants will be chosen by Roxy and offered the chance to attend the newly formed Roxy High Performance Surf Camp situated at Casurina on the NSW North Coast.
Random prizes will also be given away at each Surf Jam location. And to ensure that no one leaves the beach empty handed, every participant receives a showbag filled with Roxy goodies; including the official Roxy Surf Jam T-shirt, a Roxy visual diary, a sample of the new Roxy fragrance, posters, stickers and much more…
Roxy’s world surfing champions Chelsea Hedges and Sofia Mulanovich, world-ranked Rosie Hodges, and Australian champions Sally Fitzgibbons and Laura Enever will also be lending a hand at some of the Jams!

It’s unreal to see so many girls getting into it and then sticking with it. To get advice from girls like Chelsea, Sofia, Jodie and the other instructors is just invaluable. Every day is just so much fun.”
