It’s official. Aussie surf sensation Sally Fitzgibbons has sealed the 2008 ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS). With just four events to go (three ASP WQS 4-Star events and one ASP WQS 6-Star event), Fitzgibbons has amassed sufficient points to make it impossible for her rivals to overtake her. She can now rest easy in the knowledge that she has made the grade to take place amongst the world’s finest female surfers on the WCT tour in 2009.
In qualifying, Fitzgibbons has also joined former Aussies Nicola Atherton and Jessi Miley-Dyer, who both started out their careers as ASP World Junior Champions and turned into Dream Tour campaigners. Keep your eyes peeled for this future surf star.
