Spend it Right

This week’s show is the best by far, in my humble opinion 🙂 The interview with Emily Sarsfield was hilarious, so much of it had to be edited coz we spent most of it laughing our heads off. I’d actually met Emily before, we both get Animal gear and her box ended up at my place, we chatted for a while and I realised she’d be awesome on the show and voila, there she is. She’s really, really cool, and I admire her strength so much: the girl doesn’t have a trainer, she attends events by herself, yet she’s British ski X champion two years in a row. I know it was said on the show but it can’t hurt to shout out again to potential sponsors, Emily needs protective gear, eyewear, shoes, etc… so you big corps with lots of money, for once, spend it right, spend it on her.

Johno’s mountain tips were as funny as ever, this week he got pro riders James Sweet and James Stentiford to compete on Barefoot snowskates. I tried those out at the beginning of the season when there wasn’t enough snow to hit the slopes and I disagree with the pros’ verdict. One afternoon isn’t enough. It took me a good hour just to get one turn in. And I’m a decent snowboarder. They’re just bloody difficult coz they’re elevated and so long!!!

And as for the rest of the show, what can I say… I work with two British guys, so there’s not much I can do. If they decide to start a burp competition or to surf the couch, I just have to along with it. May I just point out that I’m pretty sure there was much better footage of me pulling sick stunts on the couch but for some reason the boys decided to use the bits where I look like a geek.

Oh and it’s been snowing for the last two days so I went up Brevent this morning hoping for some powder, and powder there was, alas it was barely covering the hard-as-rock sheet of ice. This global warming thing’s scary. It’s nearly the end of January and I have yet to have a decent day. And by decent day, I mean enough snow so I don’t have to worry about landing my 360’s (see how I oh-so-subtly manage to blame the weather for my being sh*t?)
