After a successful Southern Hemisphere season, the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour is getting ready to kick off into the Northern Hemisphere winter and frankly, we can’t wait!
The season looks set to be packed with a top bunch of motivated and talented snowboarders eager to go for the Swatch TTR Tour Champion titles. The Tour will also see the celebration of two 6-Star events’ anniversaries: the Burton European Open and the Oakley Arctic Challenge, which both celebrate their 10th birthday with the world’s top riders set to be in attendance to join the festivities.
Despite all the good news, in September the Tour learned about the unfortunate cancellation of the prestigious 6-Star Air & Style event in Munich and the Slopestyle format of the 6-Star Oakley Arctic Challenge (the Quarterpipe format will still be taking place). In response to these cancellations, the TTR Board has decided to assign a 6-Star level to the O’Neill Evolution Quarterpipe format, and the number of results needed for a top spot on the TTR World Ranking List has been reduced to 7 instead of 8 results. The Slopestyle format of the O’Neill Evolution, however, will keep its 5-Star level.
