In 2009, Susie Wheeldon planted her behind on a saddle to cycle around the world to promote and raise awareness for solar power. A year later she and her 2 companions had paddled through more than 13,500 miles and more than 14 countries. Their many many adventures, from being chased by wild dogs and the police, attacked by killer bees to accosting by goat herders, are collected in the book The SolarCycle Diaries, which will be launched next Wednesday, February 15th 2012 at the East London bike shop and café Look Mum No Hands.
All proceeds of The SolarCycle Diaries will go to SolarAid
