This one takes a little more time and probably isn’t one for rented rooms because it leaves holes in the wall – but the finished look is beautiful.

All you need is a few metres of sheer fabric, strings of fairy lights and two curtain poles (this one from Wilko is just £11 – complete with all the fittings).

First, measure out how many metres of fabric you will need – to run down the back of the bed, across the ceiling above your bed, and over the end.

Then fix two curtain poles in line with the ends of your bed, and simply thread the fabric through the two spaces.

Add lights by threading them through in the same way as the fabric – and your new dreamy bed is complete.
