This week has been really really exciting, we’ve been working on our embroidery machine all day everyday testing and retesting for our latest O’Neill project. Customisation is key so after receiving one of O’Neill’s aptly named Coastline Sport bags it’s been all sketching, colouring, digitising, dismantling and re-building, and to be honest it’s all got a little out of hand. Here’s a sneak peek of where we’re taking it. Memphis, stripes and print print print!
When I start a new project I always like to go back and look at everything that inspired me first off and build and expand on that. Not looking at certain images for ages always feels good when you go back with fresh eyes and a new concept in mind. I think this time it was just important to inject a heavy dose of our way of constructing prints and how we see things generally with an O’Neill twist of course. The Memphis Group have always been a huge part of how we layer so I really wanted to incorporate that, and seeing as Coastlines are such a big part of both Man Up Girl! and O’Neill I thought it was only right to get in a nautical reference so look out for the stripes in the full video (out soooon!!).
