After the launch of Quiksilver Women three years ago, they are now starting another women’s line with ASP World Champ Steph Gilmore as ambassador and poster girl.
The new face of the Quiksilver Women’s Line and the emblematic figure of women’s surfing also inhabits a rich, artistic world. Accomplished musician, she plays acoustic and electric guitar and uses films she has directed to blog her world and her travels. At just 22 years old, this Australian lives a life of sport and is engaged in helping numerous humanitarian causes such as associations like Black Dog.
The look is explained as “a touch of the rebel, a rock ‘n’ roll and urban soul. Independent, effortless, a little bohemian” and the success of the line comes from creating timeless classics, drawing contoured silhouettes, which play with a tomboy yet feminine image.
Alongside this line, Quiksilver will in February release a new line with a more relaxed flavour, to be distributed across a wider range of stores. This new line goes against the current trends and takes its inspiration not from fashion books but from exploring the Quiksilver archives. It reinterprets the iconic prints and pieces, which have brought brand success, whilst retaining creative and feminine touches. An authentic collection of modern coastal classics where every piece and every detail is steeped in their history.
